I FINALLY finished my illuminated manuscript illustration!!! I've been posting the ideas for the funeral and now you can see what it looks like all put together. The border is gold leaf, but the gold highlights were done with shell gold. It's the first time I've used shell gold and I think it turned out really well. If you want to know what this image is all about look at the comments listed with the image. I'm currently working on a silly little illumination with crazy medieval beasts. But my next real project will be the second in this series. The second one will be "Heaven". The letter H will surround a little window into heaven...but the majority of the picture space will be devoted to the opposite "Hell". I'm excited to work on it because I'm basing it on the "Black Book of Hours".
